OPP and Anishinabek Police continue search for two armed and dangerous suspects in the Longlac region

GINOOGAMING FIRST NATION – REGIONAL CRIME REPORTS – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Greenstone Detachment, in coordination with the Anishinabek Police Service, continues its active search for two armed and dangerous individuals in the area of Ginoogaming First Nation.

The shelter-in-place advisory issued earlier remains in full effect, and residents are strongly urged to stay indoors and secure their homes.


Suspect Descriptions Released

Police have released updated descriptions of the suspects:

  • Suspect 1: Black male, taller in height, wearing an all-grey jogging suit, with braided hair.

  • Suspect 2: Black male, shorter in height, wearing black pants and black shoes.

If you see individuals matching these descriptions, do not approach them. Call 911 immediately and provide location details.


Advisory for Motorists on Highway 11

Drivers travelling on Highway 11, particularly in the areas near Longlac and Ginoogaming First Nation, are advised to:

  • Remain alert

  • Avoid unnecessary stops

  • Do not pick up hitchhikers

  • Report any suspicious activity to police immediately

A significant law enforcement presence remains in the area as the investigation continues. Officers from multiple units, including tactical and emergency response teams, are actively working to locate and safely apprehend the suspects.
