Police presence in Cumberland Street North area
Police are currently responding to a call for service in the north side of the city and are asking the public to avoid the area. A major police presence including officers with the tactical team, as well as the Ontario Provincial Police are on scene,
Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Cumberland Street North shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 4.
Officers have contained the scene.
All the local businesses are at this time closed. This includes the LCBO, McDonalds and others as well.
For the safety of officers and the public, the public are asked to avoid the area until the situation is resolved.
