Light Drizzle Today but High Temperatures Are Just Around the Corner

TORONTO – WEATHER UPDATE – A steamy start to Thursday morning in Toronto, where temperatures hover near 20°C with a light drizzle and thick humidity at 90%. It’s the kind of weather that makes your coffee sweat before you do. Winds are out of the southeast at 12 km/h, and the barometric pressure is falling at 100.3 kPa, signaling a more active weather pattern to come.

Thursday Forecast: Breezy With a Hint of Drizzle

Skies remain cloudy for much of the day, with a 30% chance of showers or drizzle. It won’t be a downpour, but just enough to mess with your hair if you forgot the umbrella. Winds will swing southwest at 20 km/h, gusting to 40 km/h, before shifting northwest and ramping up to 30 km/h gusting to 50 by late afternoon. The daytime high will reach 24°C, but it’ll feel closer to 29°C with the humidex. The UV index is 6, which is still high—don’t forget your sunscreen even with the clouds.

Tonight, skies will clear slightly, becoming partly cloudy. Those blustery northwest winds will ease after midnight, and temperatures will drop to a comfortable low of 15°C.

The Heat Turns Up for Friday and the Weekend

Friday brings a mix of sun and cloud with a 30% chance of afternoon showers or a thunderstorm. Winds will pick up again, becoming westerly at 30 km/h. The mercury will rise to 25°C, but factor in humidity and it’ll feel like 30°C. UV alert: it’s a 9 out of 10, or “very high” on the sunscreen-shaming scale.

Friday night, expect cloudy periods and a 40% chance of lingering showers, with an overnight low of 18°C.

Saturday gets even toastier. A mix of sun and cloud, breezy conditions, and a high of 28°C will have patios packed and AC units humming. Saturday night remains warm, with a low of 22°C and a 30% chance of overnight showers.

Multi-Day Heat Event Begins Sunday

Heads up: a multi-day heat event is expected to kick off Sunday, June 22, with temperatures soaring to 32°C. It’ll be humid, hot, and very sticky—perfect for beach days but risky without proper hydration and cooling measures. Nighttime won’t offer much relief, with a low of 23°C and continued warmth.

Environment Canada advises everyone to stay hydrated, stay cool, and keep an eye out for symptoms of heat-related illnesses—especially among vulnerable populations.

What to Wear in Toronto

Today calls for light, breathable layers and a waterproof jacket for those scattered drizzles. Friday through Sunday, shorts, sunglasses, and plenty of SPF are musts. And if you’re braving the TTC or hitting the parks, bring a water bottle and a hat—sun safety isn’t just a summer trend, it’s survival.
