OPP Investigating Suspicious Death in Red Lake

RED LAKE – NEWS – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is actively investigating a suspicious death in the Municipality of Red Lake following an incident that left one individual with life-threatening injuries earlier this month.

According to the OPP, officers with the Red Lake Detachment responded to an incident on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, which resulted in an individual being transported to the hospital in critical condition. Sadly, the victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

The deceased has been identified as Myrna MASON, 40, of Red Lake.

The investigation is being conducted by the Northwest West Region Crime Unit, with support from the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB). The Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service are also involved, along with members of the OPP Forensic Identification Services.
