22-Year-Old Faces Charges After Attempted Robbery on Arthur Street

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – A local man is facing multiple charges following an attempted robbery involving threats and an alleged weapon in the early hours of Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Late-Night Incident on Arthur Street West

Thunder Bay Police Service Primary-Response officers were dispatched around 1:30 a.m. to the 200 block of Arthur Street West after receiving a report of a weapons incident.

According to police, the victims told officers they had been conversing outside a local business when they were approached by an unknown male who threatened them, claimed to have a weapon, and demanded their wallets.

Victims Escape, Suspect Arrested

The victims managed to leave the area and immediately called 911. A short time later, officers located a suspect matching the description provided. He was arrested without further incident.

Accused Faces Multiple Charges

Aiden MOONIAS, 22, of Thunder Bay, has been charged with:

  • Robbery

  • Uttering Threats

  • Failure to Comply with a Probation Order

He appeared in court on Wednesday and was released from custody with a future appearance scheduled.

Thunder Bay Police continue to remind residents to report suspicious activity immediately and to avoid confronting potentially dangerous individuals directly.
