Pepper Spray Attack on May Street Leads to Arrest

25-year-old woman faces multiple charges after assaulting two people on Thunder Bay’s south side

THUNDER BAY – LOCAL CRIME BLOTTER – A 25-year-old woman is in custody following a late-night assault involving pepper spray that left two individuals injured on Thunder Bay’s south side.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to the incident near May Street and Miles Street shortly before 11 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, after receiving reports of an assault involving a chemical agent.


Victims Sprayed, Suspect Identified Nearby

Upon arrival, officers located a male and female victim suffering from the effects of pepper spray. The victims were able to provide a description of the suspect to police.

A nearby group was quickly located by officers, and following an investigation at the scene, a female suspect was identified, arrested, and taken into custody.


Charges Laid Against Autumn Caitlyn Buchan

As a result of the investigation, Autumn Caitlyn BUCHAN, 25, has been charged with the following:

  • Assault with a Weapon ×2

  • Administering a Noxious Thing ×2

  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

  • Breach of Probation

The accused made a court appearance on Friday, April 25, and has been remanded into custody pending a future appearance.
