Waste collection changes for week before Easter

THUNDER BAY – April 10, 2025 – Curbside waste collection dates will change next week due to the Good Friday statutory holiday.

Garbage and recycling collection will move one day earlier for all residents. There will be no collection on Good Friday, April 18.

The following are the Easter holiday waste collection changes:

AREA 1 (Tuesday collection day): Collection moves to Monday, April 14

AREA 2 (Wednesday collection day): Collection moves to Tuesday, April 15

AREA 3 (Thursday collection day): Collection moves to Wednesday, April 16

AREA 4 (Friday collection day): Collection moves to Thursday, April 17

Residents are reminded that they can receive waste and recycling collection reminders – free! – by phone, email, or through the Thunder Bay Waste Recycling app. Sign up for reminders at: www.thunderbay.ca/waste

In addition to the waste collection changes, the City of Thunder Bay’s Solid Waste & Recycling Facility (Landfill) will be operating on holiday hours:

Good Friday, April 18: Closed
Saturday, April 19: 8 am – 4:30 pm
Easter Sunday, April 20: Closed
Easter Monday, April 21: Closed

Regular Landfill hours return on Tuesday, April 22.
