OPP Lay Domestic Assault Charges in Ignace

DRYDEN, ON – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Ignace have charged a 45-year-old individual with multiple offenses following a domestic incident on November 2, 2024.

Incident Overview

Around 10:00 p.m. on November 2, members of the Ignace OPP Detachment responded to a report of domestic violence on East Street in the Township of Ignace. Following their investigation, officers arrested and charged the individual involved.

Charges Laid

The accused faces the following charges under the Criminal Code:

  • Assault – Spousal
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Assault

The individual has been released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Ignace on December 4, 2024. To protect the victim’s identity, the OPP has withheld the name of the accused.
