Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeg Police are investigating a violent robbery that occurred on a transit bus Monday evening, leaving a mother and her teenage daughter injured.
On October 7, 2024, at approximately 6:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing on a bus near Portage Avenue and Valour Road. Upon arrival, they found a 40-year-old woman and her 16-year-old daughter suffering from injuries caused by an edged weapon.
According to police, the victims were involved in an unprovoked altercation with three female suspects on the bus. The argument escalated, and the suspects assaulted the victims with an edged weapon before fleeing the scene with their personal belongings.
Both victims were transported to the hospital, treated for their injuries, and released.
Suspect Descriptions:
- Suspect #1: Indigenous female in her late 20s, approximately 5’1” tall, with a medium build, and wearing glasses. This suspect was carrying the edged weapon.
- Suspect #2 and #3: Female youths wearing all dark clothing.
The Major Crimes Unit is actively investigating and working to obtain further details about the suspects. No arrests have been made at this time.
