OPP Assisting Treaty Three Police in Eagle Lake First Nation Death Investigation

DRYDEN, ON – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), in collaboration with the Treaty Three Police Service (T3PS), is conducting a death investigation in Eagle Lake First Nation.

On May 31, 2024, around 12:35 p.m., an individual was found deceased in Eagle Lake First Nation.

A post-mortem examination will be performed at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto to determine the identity and cause of death of the deceased.

Investigators have stated that there is no immediate threat to public safety.

The investigation is being handled by the OPP North West Region Crime Unit, Regional Support Team, and OPP Forensic Identification Services, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch. They are working in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
