THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Welcome to the weekend. Lots to do across the region this weekend. Kenora has unveiled an updated Huskie the Musky. It is certainly different, what do you think?

In Thunder Bay, it is a weekend of cruise ships. The Viking Octantis is in port Saturday at the Transportation Museum Pier, formerly Pier Six, at Marina Park. It is berthed right behind the Alexander Henry, a retired Canadian Coast Guard Icebreaker which will be open today for tours. Check it out!

Thunder Bay

It is going to be a Lake Superior day in Thunder Bay. It is 12 this morning with the humidity at 95 per cent. Winds early this morning are from the east at 13 km/h.

Skies will be cloudy today, with a 30 per cent potential for showers shifting to 70 per cent near noon. There will be the potential for thunderstorms.

The UV Index will be 6 or high. Saturday’s high will be 18.

This evening will see party cloudy skies with a 70 per cent potential for rain downshifting to 30 per cent later in the evening. The overnight low will be 12 with a risk of thunderstorms.

Fort Frances

It is 19 in Fort Frances this morning as of 5:30 am CDT. The humidity is at 93 per cent with winds from the SSW at 10 km/h.

Our weather outlook is for mainly cloudy skies today with a 30 per cent potential for rain showers. Winds will be from the southwest at 20 km/h gusting to 40.

High 24. Humidex 27. UV index 7 or high.

Tonight will see skies remaining mainly cloudy. There will be a 30 per cent chance of rain this evening. We are calling for a few showers beginning late this evening. Winds will be from the west at 30 km/h gusting to 60. Low overnight of 10.

Dryden and Vermilion Bay

For Dryden at 5:30 am CDT it is 18 with the humidity at 97 per cent. Skies are cloudy.

Rain showers will be ending this morning followed by mainly cloudy skies with a 60 per cent potential for rain showers. There will be a risk of thunderstorms this morning and early this afternoon.

Winds will be from the south at 20 km/h gusting to 50 becoming west 30 gusting to 50 near noon.

High 23. Humidex 26. UV index 6 or high.

Tonight the forecast is calling for mainly cloudy skies with a 40 per cent potential for rain showers this evening and after midnight. There could be a few showers beginning after midnight. Winds will be from the west 30 km/h gusting to 50. Low overnight of 8.

Sachigo Lake

Good morning Sachigo. Make sure you say Wacheya to Rachanne Tait today from NetNewsLedger. It is 13 this morning in Sachigo at 5:30 am CDT. Winds are 17 km/h gusting to 32 km/h from the ESE. The humidity is 97 per cent with light rain.

Saturday will be wet with rain, local amounts of 10 to 20 mm are expected. Winds later today will be from the east at 20 km/h becoming light early this morning. Wind will then becoming northeast 30 gusting to 50 this morning.

High 15. UV index 3 or moderate.

Tonight the weather office is calling for a few showers ending before morning then cloudy with 30 per cent chance of showers. Additional local amounts of 5 to 10 mm are possible. Low overnight of 9.
