Winnipeg Police Report 11-Year-Old Hit by Gunfire at Exhibition Park

WINNIPEG – NEWS – Winnipeg Police are reporting on a second shooting victim at Exhibition Park.

On June 21, 2022, the Major Crimes Unit became aware that a second victim was injured during a shooting incident at Exhibition Park.

An 11-year-old boy (unknown to the parties involved in the shooting) was in the company of his mother and in close proximity when the shooting occurred.

A round struck the victim in his lower body. As the area was in chaos, his mother got him to safety and immediately transported him to hospital. He was treated for a gunshot wound and the police were later notified.

Investigators have charged all three accused with the additional offence of Aggravated Assault. They all remain in custody.
