Security Guard Threatened with Weapon at Southside Hotel

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Police have arrested a male and female after a security guard was threatened with a weapon twice during a single patrol outside a hotel on the city’ south side early on Thursday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the Victoria Inn just after 1:15 am on Thursday, June 16 following reports of an incident involving a weapon.

While en route, officers learned a female accused had threatened a security guard with a knife.

When police arrived they learned a security guard had been conducting a patrol of the hotel’s exterior when they were approached by the female accused.

The female threatened the security guard with a knife and then left the area on foot.

Shortly after, while still on a patrol of the building’s exterior, the same security guard happened upon a male. When approached, the male threatened the security guard with a weapon.

Police located both suspects nearby shortly after arriving on scene.

Both were subsequently arrested and transported to TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.

Precious CUTFEET, 19, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:

• Assault with a Weapon
• Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon

Caine SAKAKEEP, 21, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:

• Assault with a Weapon
• Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Both appeared in bail court on Thursday, June 16 and were released with conditions and future appearance dates.
