Weather Update Rain Boots and Umbrella

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – There are Rainfall Warnings in effect this morning for Red Lake, Ear Falls, Pikangikum, Deer Lake, Kenora, Rainy River, Dryden, Vermilion Bay, Sioux Lookout, and Fort Frances regions of the province.

Thunder Bay

Skies are mostly clear this morning to start your Monday in Thunder Bay. However clouds will be rolling in later this morning and there will be a 40 per cent probability of precipitation. Winds will be from the east at 30 gusting up to 60 km/h this afternoon. The high for Monday will be 12.

The UV Index will be 5 or moderate.

This evening will see mainly cloudy skies with a 60 per cent chance of rain. There is a risk of a thunderstorm this evening. Winds will diminish from the gusty winds of this afternoon to light this evening. The overnight low will be +8.

Fort Frances

A Rainfall Warning remains in effect in Fort Frances.

A low pressure system from the Dakotas will bring another round of rainfall to the region beginning later this morning.

Skies are cloudy, and there will be a risk of a thunderstorm this afternoon. From 10-15 mm of rain is likely. Winds will be gusting from 20 to 50 km/h this morning and increasing from the southeast at 40 to 70 km/h this afternoon. The daytime high will be 18.

The UV Index will be 3 or moderate.

Tonight will see showers ending. Skies will be cloudy with a 40 per cent potential for more precipitation. There is however a risk of a thunderstorm tonight. The forecast is for another 5 to 10 mm of rain. The overnight low will be 11.

Winds will slowly diminish. They will be from the southeast at 40 km/h gusting to 70 becoming southwest 20 gusting to 40 this evening.

Dryden and Vermilion Bay

It is +7 this morning headed to a high of 16 in Dryden and Vermilion Bay. A rainfall warning remains in effect for the region.

Skies will be cloudy with rain likely for late this morning. There will be 10 to 15 mm of precipitation likely along with the risk of a thunderstorm. Winds will becoming gusty today. East winds will be from 20 km/h this morning shifting to southern winds from 40 gusting to 70 this afternoon.

The UV index will be 3 or moderate.

This evening, rain will be ending by midnight. There is a risk of a thunderstorm early this evening. An added 5-10 mm of precipitation is likely. The overnight low will be +9.

Sachigo Lake

It is +4 headed to a high for Monday of 14 in Sachigo Lake. Skies will be cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of drizzle this morning. It will be foggy this morning but the fog patches will fade later in the morning. Winds will be from the east at 20 gusting to 40 km /h.

The UV Index is 4 or moderate.

This evening will see rain in earnest beginning early this evening with 15 to 25 mm forecast. Winds will slowly diminish from 20 gusting to 40 km/h to light winds around midnight. However wills will be picking up again before morning with southwest winds from 20 to 40 km/h expected. The low overnight will be +9.
