Weather Outlook Pine Trees and Blue Sky

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Ontario weather is a couple of contrasts today. This morning the hot spot in Ontario at 9.7 °C was recorded at Sandy Lake Airport. Yet the cold spot in Ontario recorded at -5.8 °C is to the east at the Attawapiskat Airport.

There are no weather alerts or warnings in effect for the region this morning.

The flood warning for Fort Frances was extended on Friday, until May 13th, and Ontario has opened up financial support channels for those people impacted.

Thunder Bay 

It is going to a a sunny Saturday in Thunder Bay. The high will be a spring-like +12.

UV index 7 or high.

Tonight will see a few clouds. Winds will pick up from the east at 20 km/h becoming light late this evening. Low overnight of +1.

Fort Frances

A mixed bag of weather for Fort Frances today. There will be a mix of sun and cloud along with a 40 per cent chance of showers this morning.

Winds will becoming south 30 km/h gusting to 50 this morning. High of +22 facilitating snow melting.

UV index 7 or high.

Tonight the forecast is for increasing cloudiness. There will be a 40 per cent chance of showers late this evening and overnight. Periods of rain will begin before morning. Wind southeast 30 km/h gusting to 50. Low overnight of +9.

Dryden and Vermilion Bay

Mainly cloudy skies for Dryden and Vermilion Bay. There will be a 40 per cent chance of showers this morning. Skies should be clearing by this afternoon. Winds will becoming south 30 km/h gusting to 50 this morning. High +19 for Saturday.

UV index 7 or high.

Tonight will see clear skies this evening then partly cloudy skies with a 40 per cent chance of showers overnight. Wind south 30 km/h gusting to 50. Low overnight of +5.

Sandy Lake

Ontario’s Hot Spot this morning will see clear skies this morning followed later Saturday by a mix of sun and cloud. There will be a 30 per cent chance of rain showers this morning.

Winds will be from the south at 20 km/h with wind gusts to 40 km/h. The high for Saturday will be 18.

The UV Index will be 6 or high.

Tonight will see continued clear skies with winds from the southeast at 30 km/h. The overnight low will be 7.
