COVID-19 Update: Death Toll to 81, 34 in Hospital, 8 in ICU, 91 New Cases

Thunder Bay – COVID-19 Update – The death toll in the district is now at 81, with one additional death due to the virus in the Thunder Bay District Health Unit reporting catchment.

There are 91 new lab-confirmed cases of the virus with 173 active lab-confirmed cases.

34 people are hospitalized and of that number 8 are in the Intensive Care Units.

Ontario

241 people are in ICU with COVID-19. 82% of patients admitted to the ICU were admitted for COVID-19, and 18% were admitted for other reasons but have tested positive for COVID-19.

There are 1,947 new cases of COVID-19 in Ontario as of March 9, 2022.
