School Crossing Guard Service Cancelled for Monday, February 8, 2021

There is an Extreme Weather Alert with Environment Canada calling for very cold conditions through Thursday.

Thunder Bay – NEWS – Cold weather is impacting Thunder Bay.

The City of Thunder Bay has cancelled its School Crossing Guard Service today, Monday, February 8th 2021, for the morning shift only due to extreme cold weather. Service is planned to resume for the afternoon shifts.

In the event of extreme cold weather, when temperatures combined with the wind chill factor is below -40 degrees Celsius, the City of Thunder Bay cancels service of the Adult School Crossing Guards to protect the health and safety of its staff members.

During this disruption of service, parents will need to find alternate methods of safe travel to/from school for their children.
