COVID-19 Update

QUEBEC – The province of Québec is going under a province wide curfew.

As of January 9, 2021, Québecers will be living under a curfew while the province struggles to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

Premier Francois Legault announced several new lockdown measures on Wednesday afternoon.

Among the measures is a curfew that will require Quebecers to be in their homes by 8 pm to 5 am daily or risk a fine of up to $6,000.

The new rules include restrictions on all citizens. In terms of the curfew, the Premier said that “There will be no excuses for violating curfew”.

Legault said Québec’s grocery stores and depanneurs will now be closed at 7:30 pm daily. This to allow workers and shoppers enough time to get home.

Restaurant dining rooms will remain closed.

Pharmacies and gas stations will be permitted to remain open during curfew hours.

The new measures will remain in effect until February 8, 2021.
