THUNDER BAY – There are some contrasts in the region today. The lowest temperature is in Armstrong this morning at -5.6c. Here in Thunder Bay, it is 6c. Almost a 12-degree difference in only a relatively short distance.

For Thunder Bay, where the beauty of the Sleeping Giant is greater than any “Toronto” sign, Environment Canada says we will have cloudy skies for the early risers. The skies will become a mix of sun and cloud later this morning. Winds will become southeast 20 km/h gusting to 40 this morning. Today’s high 13.

For tonight, partly cloudy. Becoming cloudy after midnight with a 40 percent chance of showers overnight. There is a risk of a thunderstorm before morning. Wind southeast 20 km/h gusting to 40. Low 8.

Looking toward holiday Monday, batten down the hatches! The weather service says to expect showers at times heavy ending late in the afternoon then cloudy conditions. There is a risk of a thunderstorm in the morning and early in the afternoon. Total rainfall amounts 15 to 25 mm are expected. Winds will be southeast 30 km/h gusting to 60 becoming northwest 30 gusting to 60 in the afternoon.

Sioux Lookout

The forecast for Sunday is calling for increasing cloudiness. Winds will be strong, southeast 30 km/h gusting to 50. Today’s high will be 14.

For tonight, Environment Canada says more clouds with showers, at times heavy beginning after midnight. There is a risk of a thunderstorm overnight. Total rainfall amounts 5 to 10 mm. The winds southeast 30 km/h gusting to 50. The overnight low will be 8.

Looking forward to Thanksgiving Monday, expect showers at times heavy ending early in the afternoon then cloudy with 30 percent chance of showers. There is the risk of a thunderstorm early in the morning. Added rainfall amounts of 10 to 15 mm. Winds southeast 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming west 20 gusting to 40 in the morning. An early morning high of 11 with the temperature falling to 6 in the afternoon.

Kenora

For Sunday expect a mix of sun and cloud. It will become overcast near noon. There is a 40 percent chance of showers late this afternoon. Winds will be southeast 30 km/h gusting to 50. High 16. UV index 3 or moderate.
For tonight the clouds will continue, there is a 40 percent chance of showers early this evening. Showers at times heavy beginning this evening. Risk of a thunderstorm this evening and after midnight. Amount 15 to 25 mm. Wind southeast 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming northwest 20 gusting to 40 overnight. The overnight low 8.

For holiday Monday expect mainly cloudy skies in the morning however, clearing in the afternoon. Wind west 20 km/h gusting to 40. A high for Thanksgiving of 11.

Sachigo Lake

Our friends in Sachigo Lake have a morning temperature of 1c. For today expect a mix of sun and cloud. Winds southeast 30 km/h gusting to 50. Today’s high 9.

Into the evening and overnight expect cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of showers late this evening and after midnight. Periods of rain will begin overnight. Winds southeast 20 km/h becoming light before morning. The overnight low 8.

For Monday, periods of rain with winds becoming west 20 km/h gusting to 40 in the morning. A daytime high of 10c is expected.
