DULUTH – WEATHER – The winter snow headed to Northwestern Ontario promising up to 25cm of snow is coming through Minnesota. Keep in mind for people in Ontario who plan a weekend venture south to Duluth, Mother Nature will likely have something to say about that.

The National Weather Service report that “A winter storm is on track to impact the Northland Friday afternoon into Saturday evening. Snowfall totals of 6 to 10 inches plus are expected across the area with the highest amounts along the North Shore of Lake Superior.

“The heaviest snow will occur Friday evening into Saturday morning before tapering off Saturday afternoon. Strong northwest winds will arrive for Saturday afternoon into Saturday night with gusts to 25 to 35 mph plus expected. This will lead to blowing and drifting snow and continued dangerous driving conditions”.

Quiet conditions will return on Sunday and persist into the new week.
