Saskatoon, SK – The Lakehead Thunderwolves men’s basketball team fell 83-81 to the Saskatchewan Huskies on Friday, October 18 in Saskatoon, SK.
“Tough loss tonight to a tough Saskatchewan team. We had two looks down the stretch to win/tie it that didn’t go our way,” said head coach Ryan Thomson.
“They made some good plays to get a deflection and a good contest.”
Thunderwolves guard Laoui Msambya led his team with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Isaiah Traylor also had a strong game with 18 points and 6 rebounds.
The Thunderwolves capitalized on 23 turnovers, while the Huskies were only able to capitalize off of 7.
Saskatchewan’s JT Robinson finished the game with 28 points, double what the next highest scorer on the Huskies team recorded. Kessler Bishop led the Huskies defensively with 8 rebounds.
“We’re back at it tomorrow looking to keep growing and improving,” said Thomson.
The Thunderwolves will play their final game of the Graham Shoot Out on Saturday, October 19 against the Mount Royal Cougars at 2:00 PM.
