Homicide in Winnipeg Results in Arrest of 34-Year-Old Man

WINNIPEG – Winnipeg Police report that on June 7, 2019, at approximately 8:45 pm, officers responded to a report of a fight with several males at the intersection of Sherbrook Street and Sara Avenue.

The responding officers located an adult male suffering from an upper-body stab wound and immediately began administering first aid. The victim, a male in his 50s, was transported to hospital by ambulance, however, he succumbed to his injuries.

A 34-year-old male has been arrested and remains in custody. Charges have not yet been laid.

Investigators are looking to speak to the driver of a white-coloured SUV that had stopped in the area and offered assistance to the victims. The driver or anyone with additional information is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stopper at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
