WINNIPEG – NEWS – Winnipeg Police are investigating another shooting death.

Police report that on April 18, 2019, at approximately 3:10 a.m., emergency services personnel responded to the area of the rail line in the 1000 block of Selkirk Avenue for a report of a male that had been shot.

Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male. The male was transported to hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced deceased.

The deceased victim has been identified as Joselito Fernandez, a 53-year-old male of Winnipeg.

Homicide investigators are now asking the public for their assistance. Anyone in the area that has access to video surveillance or may have heard/seen something unusual overnight is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508.
