OTTAWA – The Thunder Bay Kings dropped a 3-2 decision to the Brantford 99ers Wednesday afternoon at the 2019 All-Ontario Peewee Hockey Championship in Ottawa.

After Brantford opened the scoring in the final minute of the first period, Thunder Bay came right back 10 seconds later to notch the equalizer from Carter Deschamps with an assist going to Morgan Henderson.

The 99ers then regained the lead in the middle session only to see the Kings counter once more with Jack Lambert setting up Mitchell Vanderwey for a power-play goal late in the frame.

Brantford broke the deadlock midway through the third and rode the lead the remainder of regulation to secure the victory.

Thunder Bay netminder Carter George was solid in defeat, finishing with 31 stops.

Now sporting a 2-2 record, the Kings wrap up round-robin play Thursday with a pair of contests as they take on the Ottawa Jr. 67s at 10 a.m., followed by a 4 p.m. encounter with the Mississauga Senators.
