RED LAKE – NEWS – Red Lake OPP reports that on March 29, 2019, at approximately 11:30 pm CDT, officers were on patrol within the Municipality of Red Lake when they observed a vehicle swerving in its lane.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the operator of the vehicle before making a demand for an approved screening device breath sample. The driver subsequently failed and was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood and was returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Marshall DANSEREAU, 35, of Red Lake, was charged with Over 80 contrary to Section 320.14(1)(b)  and Impaired Operation contrary to Section 320.14(a)(a) of the Criminal Code.  He was remanded into custody for a bail hearing.

Motorists who drive impaired by alcohol or drugs are subject to drivers licence suspensions, fines, vehicle impoundments, criminal records and increased insurance costs. Please drive responsibly and don’t drink and drive.
