Red Lake OPP Search Warrant Results in Drug Trafficking Charges

RED LAKE, ON – NEWS  – On January 16, 2019 officers from the Red Lake detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of officers from Kenora Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) and the Kenora CSCU executed a search warrant on a residence in Red Lake.

As a result of the investigation, Dillon LAWSON, 26, of Red Lake was arrested and charged for Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act as well as Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by Crime under $5000 contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Lawson was remanded into custody for a bail hearing on January 18, 2019.
