Fire and Smoke Damage Extensive in Algoma Street Fire

THUNDER BAY – At 01:00 this morning, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a structural fire at a commercial business on 221 Algoma Street South.   Five Pumper trucks and 1 aerial Ladder with 22 firefighters,  heavy smoke and flames were showing on arrival.

Platoon Chief Harold Spithoff says, “The fire was quickly brought under control,  Fire and smoke damage were extensive.”

The cause is under investigation.
