Vehicle Stop Leads to Charges

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police Service School Resource Officers arrested a male and female after the officers spotted a suspected stolen vehicle just before 9 a.m. Sept. 26, 2018.

Officers were in the area of Ogden Community Public School conducting an ongoing neighborhood safety project that began as a result of community concerns. During their patrol, the officers noticed a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle which had previously been reported stolen.

The officers stopped the driver in the 100 blocks of Heron Street. Both the driver and his passenger were later arrested without incident.

The 36-year-old male driver of no fixed address was charged with possession of stolen property. The female passenger, a 25-year-old from Thunder Bay, was arrested for outstanding warrants.

Both are in custody pending a court appearance.
