Manhunt Ends in Arrest of Man Running from OPP in Wabigoon

OPP have laid a number of charges in a stolen vehicle investigation

WABIGOON – On Friday, September 14, 2018, at approximately 5:27 a.m.(central time), Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen pickup truck westbound on Hwy 11-17 from Ignace.

Members of the Dryden (OPP) located the vehicle in Dinorwic and attempted a traffic stop.  The vehicle failed to stop for police and continued westbound at a high rate of speed. The suspect vehicle made contact with several vehicles including a police cruiser.  The vehicle eventually lost control and left the roadway near Wabigoon First Nation. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

At 10:40 am members of the North West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) & the OPP Canine Unit located the subject and he was subsequently arrested.  Dryden OPP and OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are on scene assisting with the investigation. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
