Man Not Allowed to Communicate with Anyone Under 16-Years of Age

THUNDER BAY – On August 26, 2018, at approximately 4:30 pm a sharp-eyed Thunder Bay Police patrol officer noticed a male on an e-bike speaking to two young girls in the May Street and Isabel Street area. The officer observed the male driving with one of the girls on the bike and she was not wearing a helmet.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver and the 9-year-old female passenger.

A check of the male on the police records system confirmed that the male was prohibited from communicating or being around persons under the age of 16 years old.

The male was arrested and escorted to the Balmoral Police Station.

Michael Danial Bewcyk, 70 years old of Thunder Bay has been charged with Breach of Prohibition Order – Communicate under 16 years. He appeared in court yesterday and was remanded into custody.

The TBPS Investigation is continuing. It is likely additional charges may be filed in this matter.
