OPP Investigating Vehicle / Pedestrian Collision on Expressway at Red River Road

OPP have laid a number of charges in a stolen vehicle investigation

THUNDER BAY – On August 13, 2018, at approximately 11:00 pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Superior North Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian that occurred at the intersection of Red River Road and Highway 11/17 (Thunder Bay Expressway).

The driver of a passenger van was westbound on Highway 11/17 when the driver struck a pedestrian that proceeded into the intersection against a red traffic light.

The female pedestrian was transported to the hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
