THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Almost all of Northwestern Ontario is under a Heat Warning issued by Environment Canada.

Heat Warning in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay
  • Dryden – Vermilion Bay
  • Ignace – English River
  • Kenora – Grassy Narrows – Whitedog
  • Sioux Narrows – Nestor Falls – Morson
  • Ear Falls – Perrault Falls – Western Lac Seul
  • Red Lake – Woodland Caribou Park

A heat event will begin today and continue Sunday.

Southwest winds will transport a hot and humid airmass over the area this weekend. Daytime high temperatures are forecast to be near 30 degrees both days with overnight lows tonight near 20 degrees.

A cold front is forecast to cross the region Sunday night bringing relief from the hot and humid conditions.

Extreme heat affects everyone.

Reduce your heat risk. Schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
