DRYDEN – The Dryden Police is investigating a collision that occurred between a school bus and a car yesterday at around 5 pm at the intersection of Highway 17 and Duke Street. At the time of the collision, the bus was carrying nine high school aged students, with one student transported to the hospital for a minor, non-life threatening injury. The student was treated and released. A pickup truck also sustained damage during the collision.

Judi Green of the Northwestern Ontario Student Services Consortium advises: “Please be advised that this accident did NOT involve either Hutchison Bus Lines or Iron Range Bus Lines. Both of these bus operators are under contract with the Northwestern Ontario Student Service Consortium. The school bus involved in the collision was NOT a Consortium contracted school bus”.

The Dryden Police Service is continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
