Woman Injured in Serious Motor Vehicle Accident

THUNDER BAY – Police report that on June 21st, 2017 at approximately 12:45PM EDT that was a serious injury motor vehicle collision which happened at Marina Park near the boat launch area.

In a media release, Thunder Bay Police say “A sixty-year-old male driver was attempting to park a grey Dodge pickup truck in a parking spot at Marina Park near the boat launch and mistakenly accelerated striking a pedestrian on the walking path.

The pedestrian, a seventy-three-year old female, suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center for treatment.

The Traffic Services Branch of the Thunder Bay Police Service are now involved in the investigation and are requesting any witnesses may have seen the accident and who have not spoken to police to call the Traffic Services Branch at 684-1276.
