THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police were on scene on Monday afternoon in the Limbrick Housing complex. Officers along with Superior EMS responded to what residents have said was a stabbing.

A male from one of the units was taken to TBRHSC according to sources who tell NNL that individual is suffering from a stab wound.

Sources tell NNL that police have one person in custody, but it can not be confirmed if that is in direct relation to this incident.

The Limbrick Complex in the past year has been the scene of a great number of incidents. Assaults and a homicide have happened in the housing project operated by the Thunder Bay District Social Services Administration Board.

Thunder Bay Police Officers spoke to the individuals that we inside the residence and arrested 31 year old Andrew James Munroe. He appeared in court this morning on charges of Aggravated Assault. He has been remanded into custody.

The victim and the accused are known to each other and alcohol was a factor in this altercation.

Thunder Bay Police in recent weeks have seriously increased their visible presence in Limbrick, often with police units outside the community policing unit in the complex.
