SAULT STE MARIE – WEATHER – Travelling east today toward Sault Ste Marie could offer some challenges. There is a Snow Squall Watch in effect.

Snow squall watch in effect for:

  • Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island
  • Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay

Conditions continue to be favourable for the development of snow squalls.

Lake effect snow from Lake Superior is expected to continue through the day today and into the overnight hours. During this time there is the potential for snow squalls to develop. Snowfall amounts of 10 cm are possible by this evening.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
