GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. – The Thunder Bay Tim Hortons bantam A Queens were humbled 8-1 by the Proctor-Hermantown Mirage Friday evening in their opening game of the Star of the North tournament in Grand Rapids, Minn.

Jada Leblanc opened the scoring for Thunder Bay early in the contest as her shot from the slot eluded the Mirage goaltender.

Emma Johnston picked up an assist on the play.

It was all Proctor-Hermantown after that however starting with a pair of markers in the first period.

They then added two more in the second and put the game away with four tallies in the final frame.

The Queens were outshot 30-14 on the night.

Game action for Thunder Bay resumes Saturday starting with a 9:10 a.m. match-up with the Alexandria Cardinals before wrapping up round robin play vs. the Lakeville Panthers at 7:30 p.m.
