OPP Lay Charges of Sexual Assault After Digital Images Investigated

THUNDER BAY – The Ontario Provincial Police in a media statement released on Friday report, “On September 29, 2016 officers with the North West Region Crime Unit began investigating a report of inappropriate images found on an electronic device.

As a result of the investigation, on October 6, 2016 thirty-year-old Antonio CARUSO of Thunder Bay was charged with:

1) Sexual Assault contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code
2) Distributing Intimate Images contrary to section 162.1(1) of the Criminal Code x 2.

“CARUSO appeared in Thunder Bay Ontario Court of Justice the morning of October 7, 2016 and was released on a Recognizance. His next court date is October 18, 2016.

“Also charged is 35-year-old Andrew KUPER of Thunder Bay with:

1) Sexual Assault contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code.

“KUPER is currently in custody and will appear in Thunder Bay Ontario Court of Justice October 8, 2016.

“The North West Region Crime Unit and officers with the Thunder Bay OPP are conducting the investigation under the direction of Detective Inspector Peter LOREE of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).”
