Ontario Street Standoff Ends without Incident

THUNDER BAY – CRIMEBEAT – Thunder Bay Police report that a standoff on Ontario Street has now ended.

Police say that the incident, which started just after 4:15PM and shut down Ontario Street between Bay Street and Cornwall Street is now over, but there is not word confirming an arrest in the incident.

The afternoon incident was originally called a weapons call by police.

Details are still not fully released, likely implying operational security.

The closed off area however is now reopened to the public.
