Arrest Made in Robbery of Mac’s Store

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police Service uniformed officers were called to the Mac’s Store on Red River Road at 10:23 p.m. on August 3, 2016 regarding a robbery.  Officers arrived and arrested a 28 year old man who had attempted to commit a robbery.

The male had threatened the store employee with needles.  No one was injured.  The accused was taken into custody by police in the store without incident.  He was also in possession of a stolen car.

28 year old Justin Mark LEGALLAIS was charged with Robbery and Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000.  He has been remanded into custody for a future court date.

Driver Faces Charges

On August 5, 2016 just after 8:30 a.m., Thunder Bay Police were called to the intersection of Hodder Avenue at Arundel Street for a motor vehicle collision.  The collision involved a passenger car and a pedestrian.  The pedestrian, an 86 year old female, was crossing the intersection in the crosswalk when she was struck by the motor vehicle at a slow speed.  The motor vehicle was driven by a 57 year old female.

The female driver has been charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
