Fire Damages North Syndicate Avenue Home

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a structural fire at approximately 04:30 on May 3 2016.

On arrival, crews found the front porch of a North Syndicate Avenue home fully involved in flames.

Crews were able to quickly bring the flames under control, keeping the fire from advancing throughout the structure.

Residents of the basement apartment were alerted by the smoke detector and exited safely, no one was home from the main floor apartment.

The main floor sustained heavy damage, with smoke damage through the rest of the structure.

The cause is undetermined at this time.
