Accident on Highway 11 Has Traffic Slowed

THUNDER BAY = The Ontario Provincial Police are reporting that there has been a two-vehicle collision on Highway 11. The accident, involves one transport truck that was carrying seventy-nine cows. The accident has happened just west of Geraldton.

The OPP are reporting there were no injuries sustained by the drivers involved in the collision. However the Canadian Food Inspection Agency are headed to the accident scene to assess the well-being of the cattle, and to help to determine the best course of action for removal of the cattle.

It is not known if a western style round-up is needed. Right now there are no lane closures, and the OPP state that traffic is not being obstructed.

The word is that the public should use caution in the area, as OPP officers, employees of the Ministry of Transportation and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency may be working in the area.
