Fire in County Park Claims Two Lives

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Fire Rescue is reporting that two people are dead following a fire overnight in County Park. Police report that the fire in the 300 block of Brant Street was reported just before 10:40PM EST. One person was found dead at the scene.

A sixty-year-old man was taken from the scene to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where he later died as a result of injuries suffered at the Brant Street location.

 

Names of the deceased are not being released pending notification of next of kin.

The Thunder Bay Police and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office are investigating the cause of the blaze.
