THUNDER BAY – ELECTION 2015 – On Election Day, the polls open in Thunder Bay at 9:30AM EDT they close at 9:30PM EDT. You will be able to view preliminary election results for the entire country or by riding, major centre, province, territory or party leader.

This data is from Elections Canada and is based on the information suppled by the returning officers in each riding.

In Thunder Bay Rainy River and Thunder Bay Superior North, the latest polling results have shown that there is a very tight race.

In Thunder Bay Superior North, the New Democrats have insisted that the race between the Conservatives and New Democrats is tight, as Conservative support is expected to maintain the base. Green Party Deputy Leader and incumbent MP Bruce Hyer commissioned a poll that he stated shows that it is a tight three-way race with Conservative results very low.

In Thunder Bay Rainy River, incumbent MP John Rafferty is reported ahead in the polls, but that lead is being challenged by Don Rusnak from the Liberals.

Heading into Monday, the last poll from Nanos Research showed the Liberals at the national level holding their support.

Liberal leader Justin Trudeau made a whistle stop in Thunder Bay on Saturday afternoon that attracted 750 people according to sources in the Don Rusnak camp.

Last week, over 400 people showed up for a campaign event in the city with Green Party leader Elizabeth May.

Prime Minister Harper and New Democrat leader Tom Mulcair did not visit Thunder Bay during the election campaign.
