OPP Grab Stolen Licence Plates and Stolen Truck

OPP Ontario Provincial PoliceTHUNDER BAY – Officers from the Rainy River detachment of the OPP responded to to a single motor vehicle crash on Highway 11, nearly two kilometres west of Gehl Lake, just before 10PM on Sunday evening.

The officers arrived and found an unoccupied red pickup truck in the southbound roadway ditch. The vehicle’s engine was still running The pickup truck had Saskatchewan licence plates.

The responding officers discovered that the licence plates were stolen from Swift Current, Sask., on Jan. 8, and the pickup truck was stolen from Olds, Alta., on Jan. 7.

The Fort Frances OPP Crime Unit and Fort Frances OPP Detachment Scenes of Crime officer are working in consultation with the Swift Current Detachment of RCMP to continue the investigation.
