OPP Investigating Discovery of Body in Pickle Lake

OPP Ontario Provincial PolicePICKLE LAKE, ON – The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the discovery of a body in Pickle Lake, Ontario. The OPP report that on January 8, 2015 at approximately 7:30AM CST uniformed officers with the Pickle Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a non-responsive male who had been located at a residence on Lakeview Crescent in Pickle Lake.

Both police and ambulance attended the scene.

A forty-two-year-old male Pickle Lake resident was subsequently pronounced deceased by medical staff.

His identity is not yet being released pending notification of the man’s family and relatives.

A post mortem examination is scheduled to take place in Thunder Bay on Friday, January 9, 2015.

The Pickle Lake OPP and the OPP North West Region Crime Unit under the direction of Detective Inspector Peter LOREE of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
