Thunder Bay Queens Womeen's HockeyBLAINE, Minn. – SPORTS – The Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens got a pair of shorthanded goals from standout forward Samantha Isbell to help them skate to a hard-fought 2-2 draw Saturday evening vs. a strong Chicago Young Americans under-19 side at the Upper Midwest Elite League’s CCM National Invitational Tournament in Blaine, Minn.

After Chicago jumped out to a 2-0 lead, Isbell pulled the Queens to within one with 2:52 to go in the second period.

The NCAA Division I recruit, who will attend Mercyhurst on scholarship starting in the fall of 2016, then notched the equalizer with just 80 seconds remaining for her second shorthanded effort of the night.

Fayth Chambers was solid in net for Thunder Bay keeping her side in the contest making 21 saves overall allowing her side to earn a point.

The Queens had 12 shots on the Americans net.

They will wrap up play in the tourney Sunday vs. a yet to be determined opponent.
