Thunder Bay Police have Suspect Barricaded

THUNDER BAY – CRIME – Emergency responders were called to an apartment in the 400 block of Donald Street West just before 3:00AM EDT this morning responding to to an alleged assault.

Thunder Bay Police now report “This is now a homicide investigation”.

The Thunder Bay Police Service is on scene with full incident command now at Wharton Road. Police are dealing with a barricaded subject at that location in connection with the Donald Street incident.

Residents on Wharton Road are safe. Wharton Road is closed at this time.

Thunder Bay Police state: “We will release more information when we are able to do so”.

There are reports so far not confirmed by Thunder Bay Police, that the victim of the apparent homicide is an eight year old girl.

The homicide would be the sixth in 2014 in Thunder Bay.
