Two or Three Way Race So Far in Current River
THUNDER BAY – CIVIC Politics – The race in Current River Ward is a little more crowded. Claudio Monteleone announced his candidacy for Current River City Council.
Claudio Monteleone, states, “I believe in a community where everyone is included. A community which takes care of its seniors, people with disabilities and puts families first. I believe in a community where action is taken to help those less fortunate that live in poverty or are even homeless. I believe in a community where neighbours help each other. Where we all work together to do what is right! I believe in a community that includes You!”
In an interview with NetNewsLedger, Monteleone says that Current River needs to have their issues raised all the time, and he would want to see far greater consultation.
Claudio Monteleone has been a local businessman for over 20 years in Thunder Bay. He is the owner and manager of Great Expectations Marketing which publishes local community newspapers and is also the sales and promotional manager at Thunder Bay Information Radio.
Claudio Monteleone has decided to run for City Council because he would like to see positive change and progress in our community. He does not believe that the city has enough Councillors that understand the local business environment.
He would like to work on promoting and assisting local business in becoming successful.
“One major goal is to reduce the red tape and help local businesses start up and run easier. He also believes that city is not doing enough to build and maintain infrastructure and progress in the development of the community,” stated Claudio.
He wants to also work on eliminating poverty and homelessness in our community. Claudio would like to see residential taxes lowered. He also wants to see our community 100% accessible to everyone.
