THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – The Border Cats gave the top team in the North Division a good battle, but came up short losing 8-5 in 11 innings to the Eau Claire Express Thursday at Tbaytel Park.

With a Phiilies scout in attendance, Philadelphia draft pick Ryan Powers struck out nine batters over six innings, but go a no-decision.

Adam Collins had two hits and drove in three runs for the Cats.

Robb Paller collected three hits and an RBI while Tyler Rolland hit his first home run of the season.

Jordan Serena also chipped in with two hits and made several outstanding plays at second base.

The Cats and Express meet again Friday night at 7:05PM in the second game of the four game home-stand.

The Cats will be at home this weekend, make your way down to the ball park for some great family fun.
